Question: How can I find our companies Electronic Business Point of Contact (EB POC)?

Question: When is a Signed CAM Appointment Letter necessary, and when should the EB POC send that to the Help Desk?

Answer:
  • A signed CAM appointment letter should only be sent to the Help Desk if it is explicitly requested after the CAM registration has been submitted. The letter should not be submitted before the registration is complete or unless the Help Desk specifically asks for it.

Question: How is a Contractor Administrator appointed?

Answer:
  • The EB POC appoints a Contractor Administrator (CAM) by taking the following steps:
  • The EB POC can register themselves directly as the CAM in the PIEE system without additional paperwork. Or the EB POC must authorize the appointment by providing or approving a CAM Appointment Letter.
  • In all cases, the EB POC must ensure the CAM role is assigned during or following registration, as only they have the authority to approve this role in PIEE.
  • See Vendor Getting Started Guide Step 3 and 4.

Question: What should I put in the Justification Box?

Answer:
  • The Justification is the explanation or describes the rationale for the submission or action being taken. This is where details of the act can be provided and why the action is necessary.

Question: How is our CAGE code added into PIEE, what if we have multiple CAGE codes?

Answer:
  • See step 2 of the Vendor Getting Started Guide.
  • Multiple CAGE codes may be added to a single group, or as sub-groups. This can enable a Contractor Administrator to manage multiple locations or groups with a single role. Discuss these options with the Help Desk during your setup.

Question: What is a CAM? And why does PIEE prefer this to be the EB POC listed on SAM, and what if our CAM is not the EB POC?

Answer:
  • See Vendor Getting Started Guide Step 3 and 4.
  • The CAM is your company's "Gate Keeper," responsible for authorizing access to applications in PIEE for all your company's employee(s).
  • If the EB POC registers as the CAM, no additional authorization is needed to establish the PIEE CAM account.
  • If another individual that is not the EB POC, registers as a CAM, approval from the EB POC listed in SAM, is required.

Question: Why am I getting an error message saying: "Error: Roles for The Location Code xxxxx cannot be added until a Contractor Administrator is established to support your organization?"

Answer:
  • Either a Contractor Administrator (CAM) has not yet been appointed and registered - See Vendor Getting Started Guide Step 3 and 4 - or the existing CAM no longer has an active account.
  • Contact Your EB POC listed in SAM to discuss CAM appointment.
  • An inactive CAM may need to contact the PIEE Help Desk to discuss reactivation.

Question: How can I edit or update my EB POC name and email address?

Answer:
  • The Electronic Business Point of Contact (EB POC) information is provided by SAM.GOV based upon the entity information associated with your CAGE code.
  • Your company points of contact can be updated on https://WWW.SAM.GOV.
  • Updates may take 5 business days to be sent to PIEE from SAM.gov

Question: What do I do if I no longer have access to the email address I used to register in PIEE?

Answer:
  • You may contact your GAM or CAM to discuss profile updates or call the Help Desk to discuss options for updating your profile or you may need to register a new account.

Question: Our CAM has left the company how do I take over that account?

Answer:
  • Contractor Administrator accounts cannot change hands, all PIEE user accounts are individual.
  • A new Contractor Administrator will first need to complete the New User registration.
  • See Vendor Getting Started Guide Step 3 and 4 for more information

Question: How do I add a new user?

Answer:
  • All new users will first need to self-register for a PIEE User Account.
  • New users will need to be approved and activated by a Government Administrator, Contractor Administrator, or the PIEE Help Desk depending on the registration type.

Question: Why is my account in pending status

Answer:
  • A newly registered user account will remain in a Pending status for 30 days until the account is activated or approved by an Administrator.
  • If your account is in Pending status you may need to contact your Government Administrator, Contractor Administrator, or the PIEE Help Desk.

  • Government Contractor type registrations must supply the authorizing contract number for that individual acting to support the government.
  • Vendor type registrations will be required to supply a CAGE code.

  • Government, and Government Support Contractors will need the agency DoDAAC, Supervisor or Sponsor contact information, and Cyber Awareness Date to register successfully.

Answer:
  • Review the PIEE Role List for a functional description of each role within each application in PIEE, and discuss the roles you may need with your Supervisor/Sponsor.
