Purpose

Contract Closeout is an automated system that initiates and executes the closeout process at no inconvenience to the user. Before this module there was limited capability for the Department of Defense to use an automated closeout process. The Contract Closeout application will reside on the homepage of any EDA user with an active Upload/Inactive Contracts role. Contract Closeout improves both the auditability and timely recovery of excess funds. A new capability within this application is bulk sign-out. This allows a Contracting Officer to select several documents to close simultaneously without reentering their pin. This application is transforming the way our customers close contracts.

The Contract Closeout module has been expanded to allow contracts that do not qualify for automated Closeout to be closed by the Contract Closeout Utility following the completion of a Contract Closeout Worksheet. This worksheet may be auto-generated by the Contract Closeout utility or created manually by a Contracting Officer

The clauses and data on the Contract Closeout worksheet will be populated from WAWF, EDA, and PDS XML. Following review by a Contracting Officer, the worksheet will be routed to the parties responsible for making action items as completed.

The parties will mark all action items as "Complete" or "NA" and will have the option to add an attachment. Once all action items are accounted for, the completed worksheet will be reviewed and signed by the Contracting Officer and a 567C will be sent to EDA to close out the contract.
