Overview of ACWS
The Army contract writing module (ACWS), which is built upon CON-IT, currently utilizes internal authorization and authentication functionality. Defense Pricing and Contracting (DPC) has directed utilization of PIEE and the SSO capability for user authentication and authorization.
ACWS is hosted in the DLA AWS GovCloud and utilizes PIEE SSO and access controls for registration and activation processes.
ACWS provides a single point of entry for the Army contract writing module.
Routing user’s registration requests to the supervisor for approval and then to the GAM for activation.
After role activation, displays the ACWS Contracting System icon and provision the user in Contracting writing module using OAuth and Open ID Connect SSO technology.
ACWS roles that are available to DoD Government User, DoD Government Support Contractors, Non-DoD Government Users and Non-DoD Government Support Contractors.
Data in EDA and EDA reports.
Workflows and access rights are controlled at each point in the business process to include the passing of authentication and accreditation data with each transaction step to enable enforcement of business rules and controls and to capture indicators of fraud or potential conflict of interest including. Performance of inherently governmental functions are limited to government personnel.
